What is SAP Integration Suite Training (Cloud Integration & API Management)?
SAP Integration Suite training teaches you to build and operate integrations on SAP's cloud integration platform, the successor to SAP PI/PO. You develop integration flows in Cloud Integration with adapters, message mapping, content modifiers, routing and scripting, publish and secure APIs with API Management policies, use Event Mesh for event-driven integration and Open Connectors for third-party systems, configure security material and certificates, and monitor and troubleshoot production interfaces. It maps to the SAP Certified Associate Integration Developer exam.
What you get
- Design integrations using the right Integration Suite capability
- Build, deploy and version integration flows
- Configure adapters for SAP and non-SAP systems
- Develop graphical and XSLT mappings including B2B structures

- Integration Advisor and Trading Partner Management
- Tenant setup, roles and provisioning
- Integration patterns: point to point, hub, event driven
- Hybrid landscapes and the Cloud Connector
- When to use Integration Suite versus point to point APIs
- Migration story from PI and PO
Building integration flows
Develop the iFlows that carry the actual messages.
- Integration flow structure and design
- Senders, receivers and channels
- Content modifier, router and splitter
- Message mapping and the mapping editor
- XSLT and Groovy scripting in an iFlow
- Value mapping and lookups
- Exception subprocess and error handling
- Deploying, versioning and transporting iFlows
Adapters and connectivity
Talk to whatever is on the other side, whether modern or legacy.
- HTTP, HTTPS and OData adapters
- SOAP and IDoc adapters for SAP backends
- SFTP and file based integration
- JDBC and database connectivity
- Mail, JMS and queue based patterns
- SuccessFactors and Ariba adapters
- Custom adapters and the adapter development kit
- Choosing the right adapter for a scenario
Message mapping and transformation
Get the data into the shape the target expects, which is most of the work.
- Graphical mapping and node functions
- Context handling and multi-mapping
- Standard functions and user-defined functions
- XSLT mapping when graphical is not enough
- JSON to XML and back
- EDI and IDoc structures
- Integration Advisor for B2B mappings
- Testing mappings systematically
API Management
Publish, secure and measure APIs rather than exposing systems directly.
- API proxies and API providers
- Policy types: traffic, security, mediation, extension
- Rate limiting, quota and spike arrest
- OAuth, API keys and JWT verification
- Payload transformation policies
- API products and the developer portal
- Analytics and monetisation basics
- Versioning and lifecycle of APIs
Events, security and certificates
Handle the asynchronous and the secure parts that break most often in production.
- Event Mesh: queues, topics and subscriptions
- Event driven integration patterns
- Publishing events from S/4HANA
- Security material: credentials and key pairs
- Certificate management and renewal
- Client certificate authentication
- Encryption, signing and PGP
- Common security failures and their symptoms
Monitoring, operations and migration
Run integrations in production and move the old ones across.
- Message monitoring and message processing logs
- Alerting and proactive monitoring
- Retry, idempotency and duplicate handling
- Performance tuning of iFlows
- Capacity and message size limits
- PI/PO migration assessment and tooling
- Cutover approach for interfaces
- Documentation and interface inventory
Projects you will build
S/4HANA to third-party integration
Build an iFlow that reads data from S/4HANA via OData, maps it, and delivers it to an external REST service with full error handling and alerting.
API product with policies
Publish an API proxy with OAuth security, rate limiting and payload transformation, then expose it through the developer portal.
Event-driven scenario
Publish a business event from S/4HANA to Event Mesh, consume it in an iFlow and trigger a downstream update, including retry on failure.
Tools you will use
- Cloud Integration design and monitor
- Where iFlows are built, deployed and watched. Your main workspace throughout the course.
- Message mapping editor
- Graphical mapping with functions and context handling, the most used feature in any integration project.
- API Management portal
- Proxies, policies, products and the developer portal for consumers.
- Event Mesh
- Queues, topics and subscriptions for asynchronous, event-driven integration.
- Security material and keystore
- Credentials, key pairs and certificates, plus the renewal process that causes most outages.
- Message processing logs
- Production troubleshooting: tracing a failed message payload by payload.
Certification
- Exam
- SAP Certified Associate, Integration Developer, SAP Integration Suite
- Code
- C_CPI_2506
- Level
- Associate
- Exam fee
- US$560 (single exam)
What learners say
I came from PI/PO. The migration module plus real iFlow building got me onto an Integration Suite project within two months.
Groovy scripting and error handling were taught with production scenarios rather than hello world examples.
API Management policies are usually an afterthought in courses. Here they were a proper module, and that is what my client needed.

What a day looks like
- Interface monitoring
- Failed messages overnight, usually a certificate, a schema change or a target system that was down.
- Development
- Building or changing an iFlow against an interface specification, with unit tests on sample payloads.
- Mapping work
- Reconciling two data models that do not agree, which is where most integration effort really goes.
- Coordination
- Talking to the target system's team about a field, a schema version or an authentication change.
- Operations
- Certificate renewals, capacity checks and updating the interface inventory documentation.
