Cookie Policy
What we store in your browser, why, and how to remove it. It is a short list.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Related technologies, local storage and session storage, keep data in your browser without sending it back to us at all. This page covers both, because the practical question is the same: what is being kept on your device.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run an analytics or tracking tag on this site. Nothing here is shared with an advertising network.
What we set
Signing in to the jobs board
If you create a jobs-board account, signing in sets one cookie so the site knows it is still you on the next page. It is limited to the jobs area, cannot be read by JavaScript in your browser, is sent only over HTTPS, and expires after 30 days or when you sign out. It holds an account reference, not your name, email or password. Without it, accounts and applications cannot work.
Where an enquiry came from
When you arrive from a campaign link, we keep the campaign parameters from that link so that if you later send an enquiry we can tell which page or campaign brought you. It records the source of the visit, not your identity.
Your tutorial progress
The free tutorials mark lessons as read and keep a simple points total, and the "try it" editors remember the code you last typed. All of that is stored by your browser, in local storage, and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data clears your progress with it.
Your phone country
When you choose a country code on a form, that choice is remembered for the rest of your browsing session so you do not reselect it on every page. It is stored in session storage and disappears when you close the tab.
What we do not do
- No advertising or retargeting cookies, and no data sold or shared with ad networks.
- No third-party analytics tag, so no third party sets a cookie through this site.
- No cookie stores your name, email address, phone number or password.
Managing cookies
Every browser lets you view and delete cookies and site data, and block them for a site. The controls are usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking cookies for this site is fine for reading the tutorials; the jobs board will not be able to keep you signed in.
