SAP jobs

Roles for SAP specialists from vetted employers. We list a vacancy only once it is confirmed.

SAP roles follow the modules. Functional consultants configure a business area such as finance or materials management. Technical consultants write ABAP, build Fiori apps and integrations, or run the systems as Basis administrators. Solution architects work across modules. Most hiring is by module first and level second.

Who hires SAP people

  • SAP partner consultancies and the SAP practices of the large system integrators, where most functional, ABAP and Basis roles sit, usually on implementation or support projects for several customers at once.
  • Enterprises that run SAP themselves: manufacturers, pharmaceutical and chemical companies, retailers, utilities, oil and gas, and large public bodies. In-house roles are steadier and more module-specific.
  • SAP itself and its managed-service and cloud partners, for support, upgrades and RISE with SAP programmes.

What each level is expected to know

Fresher, 0 to 1 year

One module's core process end to end, the navigation and the main transaction codes, and the associate certification for that module. For ABAP, clean code and the data dictionary. Employers expect hands-on time in a training system, which is why the courses run on one.

2 to 5 years

At least one full implementation or support cycle in your module, the ability to configure a requirement alone and write the specification for it, and working knowledge of the modules yours integrates with. The associate certification plus project references are the usual proof.

Architect, 6 years and beyond

Cross-module design and S/4HANA migration judgement, integration architecture, and the experience to estimate and lead a workstream. Professional-level certifications and a record of programmes delivered.
