Legal control scenario

Set up licence types and determination for a controlled product, process an order that requires a licence, and manage licence value depreciation.

Customs and preference

Process an export declaration end to end, then run preference determination using vendor declarations and explain the duty benefit claimed.

Tools you will use

GTS cockpits
Compliance, customs and risk management cockpits, the daily working screens for trade teams.
Classification worklists
Where products are assigned commodity codes and control classifications at scale.
SPL screening
Sanctioned party list data, matching configuration and blocked document handling.
Licence management
Licence master data, determination and value depreciation.
Customs declaration processing
Import and export documents and their communication with authorities.
Preference determination
Vendor declaration management and preference calculation runs.

Certification

Exam
No current SAP associate exam is dedicated to GTS. We prepare you against SAP's GTS and International Trade learning content, and note where GTS topics appear in the S/4HANA sourcing and procurement exam.

What learners say

Screening configuration and false positive handling is the day job and it is taught here properly. Most courses stop at the concept.

Sridhar N., SAP GTS Consultant

I knew the regulations and needed the system side. The compliance and legal control modules mapped straight onto our processes.

Isabel M., Trade Compliance Manager

Good specialisation choice. Once you can do GTS, you are on shortlists that most SD consultants never see.

Karthik B., SAP SD Consultant

Classification queue
New materials that need commodity codes and control classification before they can be sold or shipped.
Declaration errors
A rejected customs message, usually a data quality issue in weight, value or origin.
Compliance questions
Whether a specific shipment to a specific country is permitted, and evidencing the answer.
Content updates
Applying regulation and sanctioned party list updates, which arrive constantly.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a GTS certification?

There is no current dedicated GTS associate exam. We prepare you against SAP's GTS and international trade learning content and are honest about that rather than citing a retired code.

Is GTS being replaced by International Trade in S/4HANA?

SAP has built trade capabilities into S/4HANA, and the roadmap matters for planning. Plenty of large landscapes still run GTS as a separate system, so we teach GTS and cover how the S/4HANA capabilities compare.

Do I need SD or MM knowledge?

Yes, some. GTS screens sales orders, deliveries and purchase orders, so you need to understand those documents.

Do I need to know trade regulations?

Not in advance. We teach the concepts you need: classification, sanctions, licences, preference. Regulatory depth builds on projects.

Which industries hire GTS consultants?

Anyone shipping controlled or cross-border goods: aerospace and defence, semiconductors, chemicals, pharma, automotive and industrial manufacturing.

Is there hands-on access?

Yes, for classification, screening, legal control, declarations and preference across all three projects.
