SAP Menus

On logging into SAP GUI you land on the SAP Easy Access screen, a tree of all functions organised by area (Logistics, Accounting, Tools, etc.). You can drill down to any transaction, though experienced users jump straight to it via its code.

Rather than the full standard menu, users are often given a role-based menu showing only the transactions relevant to their job. This is cleaner and more secure, users see (and can reach) only what they need.

The Favourites folder lets each user pin their frequently-used transactions for one-click access, a simple but big time-saver that complements the menu.

Menus are for discovery; the command field (transaction codes) is for speed. Beginners lean on menus; as you learn the common codes for your area, you increasingly bypass the menu entirely.

• Relying only on menus once you know the codes.
• Ignoring role-based menus that focus the options.
• Not using Favourites for repeated tasks.
