Labs
Guided, hands-on IdentityIQ labs that walk you through real tasks end to end, from first aggregation to a certification.
Labs are step-by-step exercises you run in an IdentityIQ environment: connect an application, aggregate accounts, correlate identities, request access and launch a certification. Each lab builds on the last so you finish with a working, governed sample deployment.
- Guided, end-to-end tasks in a real environment
- Build on each other toward a working deployment
- Cover aggregation, provisioning and certification
- Reinforce the concept modules with practice
- Need access to an IdentityIQ environment
Labs are guided, end-to-end hands-on scenarios that walk you through a complete piece of SailPoint work, from a defined starting point to a working result. They bridge the gap between isolated exercises and real projects.
What a lab gives you
A lab provides a scenario, a goal and a guided path: for example, onboard an application, aggregate and correlate its accounts, model a role, and run a certification against it. You follow the steps, but you do the work, ending with something that actually functions.
How to get the most from labs
- Set up a sandbox with synthetic data first.
- Follow the lab end to end without skipping steps.
- After completing it, repeat the scenario from memory.
- Extend the lab, try a variation the instructions did not cover.
Labs and the learning arc
Labs sit between concept lessons (understanding) and real projects (applying at scale). Once you can complete the labs comfortably, the Real Projects module shows how the same patterns play out in production scenarios.
Common pitfalls
- Following steps mechanically without understanding why.
- Not repeating the lab to cement it.
- Never extending beyond the guided path.
