Admin console & navigation
Quick answer
Finding your way around the SailPoint IdentityIQ administrator interface: the gear menu, key pages and the debug console.
Key takeaways
- Admin functions live under the gear menu
- Global Settings holds system configuration
- The debug pages inspect and edit objects as XML
- Capabilities control which admin pages a user sees
The administrator UI
IdentityIQ separates the end-user experience from administration. Admins work under the gear menu, which groups Identities, Applications, Roles, Policies, Certifications, and system Configuration.
Key admin pages
Global Settings holds system configuration; Applications manages sources; Identity Warehouse lists identities; and the Task and Report areas run and schedule background work.
The debug pages
The debug console (Global Settings > importing/exporting and the debug pages) lets you inspect and edit any object as XML, invaluable for configuration and troubleshooting.
Roles and access to the console
Administrative capabilities like System Administrator, or scoped capabilities, control who sees which admin pages, so least privilege applies to admins too.
